Irritability. Babies and small children are prone to become fussy when they have an ear infection as they can’t explain their symptoms. Irritability among infants and toddlers can often indicate a health issue, and parents should pay close attention to a child’s demeanor. Persistent irritability that doesn’t alleviate with diaper changes, feedings or rest can be a cry for help. Adults may also be prone to negative moods with an ear infection as everyday actions like eating and chewing become painful.
