Symptoms. For someone who is undergoing ketoacidosis, the symptoms can occur quickly. It often takes less than a day. The signs of ketoacidosis are often the same signs and symptoms of diabetes since it’s this condition which can alert people to the fact they have diabetes! Signs to look out for include: frequent urination, excessive thirst, weakness, fatigue, trouble sleeping, nausea, shortness of breath, vomiting and mental confusion. Anyone with those symptoms should speak to their physician quickly.
