Treatment. Sepsis is incredibly dangerous and need immediate treatment before it turns into septic shock. Many deaths result from septic shock. Medications are the first line of defense. Antibiotics will be used to try to stop the infection causing the immune reaction. These are introduced through an IV. A variety of medication will be used to cause specific body reactions. These include: vasoactives to try to increase a person’s blood pressure, corticosteroids for inflammation reduction, hormones to keep a body’s blood sugar levels normal and consistent, and painkillers to help a person manage the pain.
