Signs and Symptoms, Risk Factors, Causes and Treatment of Bursitis

Symptoms. Pain within the joints and bursa is the most usual symptom of bursitis. This condition might develop slowly over time, or, if calcium deposits are present in the bones, it could flare up suddenly. A condition that is known as frozen shoulder, in which limited motion and stiffness occur in the shoulder, is another symptom. Symptoms may include anything from joint pain to stiffness. Another symptom is searing pain near the joints, around the distended bursa. If you suffer from bursitis, the affected area might be red or swollen, feel stiff or achy, or become more uncomfortable when you apply pressure to it or move.
