Squamous Cell Carcinoma Prevention, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Overview and Treatment

Diagnosis. The diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma most often happens when an individual has a concern regarding a spot or lesion on the skin that has not healed. Sometimes individuals will go straight to a dermatologist while others are sent to one to be evaluated by their primary care physician. Upon physical examination of the spots or lesions, the physician most likely will order a biopsy for further analysis. The biopsy is sent of to a lab testing facility who then confirms whether the spot is cancerous.
