Treatment. A number of procedures can be carried out to treat squamous cell cancer spots. Most methods involve the removal of the spot or spots by either cutting the spot out, scraping it out, burning it out, or freezing it out. The remaining tissue is immediately tested in most cases to determine whether all of the cancerous cells have been extracted. Some of these procedures might need to be repeated to make sure all cancer is removed. Other less common methods involve topical medications and laser therapy, however, these have shown to be less effective then the traditional treatment procedures.
