Staph Infection (MRSA) Prevention and Treatment

Treatment. There are different MRSA infections depending on the bacteria. CA-MRSA infections are treated through oral antibiotics. Typically these will be enough. If the skin infection is very large and full of fluids, it may need to be drained. Sometimes, draining the infection is more than enough and no medications will be required. The HA-MRSA infection is more serious however. It can have some dangerous or even life threatening complications when untreated. This infection is typically treated in a hospital through IV based antibiotics. While sometimes it can react to the antibiotics quickly, it can also take long periods before it clears up in the cases of a severe infection.
