The Causes, Symptoms and Diagnosis of Athlete’s Foot

Symptoms. Despite there being some very common symptoms, there are a multitude of other symptoms that can occur during a fungal infection. The most common include a burning, stinging, or itching feeling on the soles of the feet or between the toes. Blisters or patches of dry skin can also develop on the feet on the sides or soles. Cracking and peeling can also occur in the skin. As the infection progresses, the toenails (and the skin around them) can become discolored, crumbly, or thick and may even fall off.
