The Causes, Symptoms and Information about Essential Tremor

Essential tremor is a hyperkinetic disorder of the brain that causes a person to have uncontrollable movements in certain areas of their body. Since there are millions of people in America who are affected by it each year, it is considered to be a fairly common condition that doesn’t cause any type of major medical problems. That is only if it is an isolated symptom though. Sometimes, essential tremor can be a sign of a more serious health problem that needs to be treated right away. So it helps to know what the main causes of the condition are and some of the symptoms to look out for.

Information. Having essential tremor can be embarrassing for a person. So it is common for those who have the condition to begin isolating themselves from friends and family members because they are trying to hide it. Or, if avoiding social situations is impossible, they may try doing little things to make their actions look normal, like putting their hands in their pockets or shifting their body weight frequently. Unfortunately, this does little to help though, so the stress of the situation can lead to depression and social anxiety. That is one reason why it is crucial that people who have this condition find a support system that they can open up to about what they are going through.
