Symptoms during a seizure. Seizure symptoms vary greatly. Because seizures can indicate serious medical issues, it wise to know both the symptoms of major and minor seizures. Minor seizures are more subtle and may simply look like a moment of indecisiveness. The patient freezes and become uncommunicative for a few moments. The patient may have no recollection that anything happened or that any time has passed. The symptoms of major seizures can be frightening for everyone around. At the extreme, the patient loses complete physical control. He or she may grunt, spasm, and collapse to the ground. There may be a loss of bladder or bowel control. The patient may finally lose consciousness as the seizure passes.
