The Symptoms and Signs, Causes and Treatment of ADHD

Inattention symptoms. Children and adults can be diagnosed with one of three types of ADHD: inattentive dominant, hyperactive/impulsive dominant, or combined type. There are several symptoms that a doctor can base their diagnosis for inattentive dominant ADHD. Children must have at least six of these symptoms and individuals over 17 years of age must have at least five of these symptoms. Some of the symptoms of inattentiveness include: Frequently making careless mistakes, being unable to concentrate and stay focused, being unable to stay organized and manage time, frequently lose items for daily living, not paying attention when others are talking and avoids tasks that require sustained mental effort like taking tests or writing reports.
