The Symptoms and Treatment of Scabies

Scabies in teens and adults. Scabies skin rashes in adults and teens will often show up in different areas then that of younger children. Most often the burrowing sites of the mites will be on the wrist, armpit, genitals, buttocks, elbows, knees, armpits, breasts, waist, and in between the fingers. Adults and teens can be especially prone to recurrent mite infestations and the incubation period becomes shorter with each subsequent infestation. An important symptom that often will occur and cause serious complications is when the skin rashes and lesions become infected from excessive and frequent itching. A particularly intense form of scabies, called crusted scabies can occur in those who have weak immune defenses and the elderly.
