Symptoms. The signs and symptoms of a scrotal mass will vary depending on the individual and the specific abnormality. Most people will notice an unusual lump in the scrotum first. This might also be accompanied by an aching pain or a feeling of heaviness in the scrotum, and the skin surrounding it may redden. The testicles can become tender or harden, as well. In more serious cases, the person may experience nausea or vomiting. In the event that the cause of the mass is an infections, additional symptoms may present, such as fever and/or presence of blood or pus in the urine. A doctor should be consulted any time that a person detects a mass or experiences pain. These conditions require prompt treatment in order to prevent permanent damage to the testicles.
