The Symptoms, Causes, Diagnosis and Treatment of Toxoplasmosis

Diagnosis. Since the symptoms of a toxoplasmosis infection are so vague, many people don’t realize that they have it. The only way to know for sure is by doing a blood test to check if there are antibodies that have built up as a reaction to the parasites. Even then, the results might not be accurate though, which is why doctors have to send the blood work to a lab that specializes in testing for the parasite. Sometimes, a brain biopsy may be needed so that a doctor can check if there are toxoplasma gondii cysts in the brain. This procedure is rare though.
